Spa Heater Pressure Switch

Model 30408 fits Balboa heaters that have a threaded connection for a pressure switch.  The pressure switch is adjustable but comes factory calibrated.

Pressure switch problems are usually first noticed when an error message appears on the topside control panel.  It may say FL or FLO and either be flashing or solid.

FLO means flow switch is open (contacts not closed).

Pressure switch cable sold separately or existing cable may be used if serviceable.

Before you change the pressure switch, it pays to make sure the problem is really with the switch and not just a setting.  Some pressure switches are non-adjustable, but this one is.

Some may test the pressure switch by jumpering the two terminals of pressure switch to see if FLO message goes away and spa runs.  If an adjustment of the pressure switch does not fix the issue, then replace pressure switch.
Jumpering the switch is done by techs to determine if everything else is working on the spa and isolating the pressure switch as the problem.

Use pipe thread tape on the threaded connector and screw new pressure switch into the place of the removed pressure switch. (note - this is not something you do with water in the heater!)

Plug in sensor cable and assure there is no water leakage, then the pressure switch is replaced.
